Joining Vikings Mens’s soccer club is a fun and rewarding way to stay active, improve their game, and make lifelong friends.
The state league arm of the club has been in operation since its inaugural season of 2013. Coming off the back of an incredibly dominant period within the BDSA competition, where the club won 4 league titles in 5 seasons a decision was made to pursue a more challenging path for the mens side. Beginning at the bottom of the Victorian football pyramid, the boys were good enough to achieve promotion in their first season albeit through a restructure. Finishing in 6th place in a 16 team league was enough to see them jump from State 5 to State 4 in 2014. The side would continue to climb the runs eventually achieving promotion off the back of a nail biting penalty shoot out in 2017, defeating Fawkner SC to secure our spot in State League 3.
Our current squad continues to build from strength to strength and we remain ambitious in our pursuit of becoming the highest ranked club in the region.
As a founding member of the Ballarat and district soccer association the BDSA Men’s arm of the club has a long a decorated history which over the last decade has brought continued success in both the senior and reserve competitions
Having introduced men’s state league sides in 2013 we worked hard to ensure that the BDSA arm of the club continued to operate at the same level and sought to recruit some new (and returning) players. Since 2013 the BDSA arm of the club has gone from strength to strength, winning multiple league and cup doubles, including last season where our senior men posted a 100% winning record, capping off this dominant performance by winning the grand final in emphatic fashion
Training weekly on a Wednesday at our state-of-the-art facility we look to continue this pattern of success season after season
